The Myth of Having to Go Into a Season With Cap Space

Thanks for confirmation. I guess in terms of total compensation, it is a lowball, but when looking at it on a per-year basis, it's not.
I can somewhat understand the Bengals' logic when negotiating with Whitworth because they probably only had another year, maybe two before he would decline/retire given his age. However, he wasn't showing any signs of decline yet and it's proven to be a mistake by the Bengals to gamble on his decline/retirement.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
