Isn't a "one year phenomenon" what the Reds chose to pay Homer on?  When you look at Wood's career stats, 2017 was a bit of an anomaly.  Seems like he's traditionally a .500 type of pitcher, with a respectable mid 3s ERA.

Now, when you look at his career, nothing in there says "Ace" to me, but he is definitely an upgrade to the current rotation.
