Bell is just dumb. He got an idea stuck in his head that he was the best and he had to be paid more than anyone else or he wasn't going to risk damaging his body at all.
Brown is dumb, but just on a personal level. He thinks he is the best and has a better work ethic than Bell but he thinks he deserves to be treated differently because of it.
Both are making it all about what they can get and not what they can do for the team.
Secondly they don't have a chance every year...and that's because of Tomlin. His locker room is a shambles, his coaches are not held accountable, HE is not held accountable...at least by the people who matter (ownership/players).
The one thing Brown may be right about, and the one thing that might create a change in Pittsburgh, is that Tomlin does not have control over the players or the locker room. They have succeeded in spite of his lack of leadership. And with that void players like Ben tried to step in...only to become the target of people like Brown who don't want ANY discipline.
Again, just one man's opinion from the outside.
As a fan, it saddens me any time a player(s) puts the needs of themselves above the team. The Steeler's gave Brown the opportunity to become great, pay him a ton of money and his ego gets the best of him.
As far as the Steelers making a run in 2018, yep any time you have a franchise QB who knows how to win big games with a boat load of great skilled players and great OL, you have a shot. I have no idea how that team can lose to a very bad Raider team. That one game cost them the division.
Brown is obviously a diva, my guess is the Steeler's (the Rooneys) choose to keep him, if so that is not on Tomlin in my opinion, it is on the owner and the GM. Either way, we all know the Steelers will overcome and be in the hunt every year, unlike our Bengals.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.
