I certainly was talking Mantle good on defense as opposed to Mays great on defense. If Reds can find somebody good on D in CF, we could live with that.
Since Reds have sux'd so bad, I have not wasted 6 months a year on watching them on TV. Every time I turned them on, they were losing, thank heaven for the remote channel changer. So I have seen little of young Winker. If it is true that he stinks in the OF, I don't see much future in him no matter if he can hit or not. Sparky was right to trade Alex Johnson and others and not accept poor defense no matter how well they can hit. If Winker stinks on D as you say, he needs to be trade bait. I thought Price was platooning Hamilton with Winker, but then again I was no Price fan and has been fired. I'm pretty sure Bell will want good fielders like Sparky.
