Very few coaches get complete control anywhere. It is far the exception rather than the norm. I would venture to say Marvin probably had more control and say so than a lot of other coaches in other places. That control likely evolved over time, and he didn't have final say on everything, but I think Marvin's opinion was heard loud and clear on everything involving the organization.
