It's apples and oranges comparison in many cases.
But, if you compare Palmer to his peers of the time...he wasn't one of the best QB's in the league.

Looks a lot like Dalton, but the perception of the two is miles apart for whatever reason.
The training, nutrition, medicine, fitness, playbooks and rules evolve. The athlete does not.
