He still has two years to go on his rookie contract (three if his option is picked up). There's time for him to develop without being a financial burden.
However, if the team is not going to depend on him for the future, they need to extend Green and/or Boyd.
I think Boyd is for sure extended, probably 3-4 years. Green probably should get a 2-year extension, but he may want to chase a ring based on how 2019 goes.

Picked #9 in the draft you had better be capable of being the #1 guy. As for him 'opening up the filed for others with his vertical game', child please. This is only valid if he ran the right routes and caught the balls near him. He was very little of a threat in our offense. 

I am sure by the end of TC we will know if he still has potential or not or if he is a write-off.
