I don't think meaningless is a fair word. I would say a lot of fans felt it was pointless to get to the playoffs and then turn the lights off. 

And, as far as marvins record against other coaches, that's great, but as you mention, the majority of those guys are losers. Beating a bunch of losers is also pointless if it's not getting you the end result you're seeking.
