AAF already has the players and television broadcasts in place while the XFL is lagging behind..

I believe Bill Polian was instrumental in putting it together and getting it up and running. There are a ton of big NFL resumes involved with the project who all acknowledge that the new practice rules means the NFL needs a World League/NFL Europe setup more than ever to give players the ability to catch on. There has been a ton of work put into making it a sustainable product to help as many players as possible have a chance to prolong their pro football careers.
They actually have one success story already, without even having played a game. Josh Johnson was San Diego's first pick, and then a week later the Redskins signed him to back up Butt Fumble. One week later he was starting for D.C.
