Free Agent Targets

Just a quick look at some free agent targets who could be options and some the Bengals have no chance at signing.  As we get closer to free agency I will update once we know the market.

WR -

Robby Anderson NYJ - 25 - 4 years, $47,087,060 - 11.8 yearly
Devin Funchess - 24 - 4 years, $35,641,352 - 8.9 yearly
John Brown - 28 - 2 years, $12,259,034 - $6.1 yearly

LB -

Jordan Hicks - proven with 1 season injured
CJ Mosley - proven - 5 years - 9.5 - 10 mil a year
Cory Littleton - 1-year wonder - high-risk high reward

TE -

CJ Uzomah - 3 year - 2.1 a year
Tyler Eifert - 1 year - 4
Jared Cook - 2 year - 7.5

RB -

Adrian Peterson - Rushing/TD specialist - 3 mil hit with bonuses 1 year
Latavius Murray - 2 years, $3,288,922

QB -

Teddy Bridgewater - Bring in for a visit

DL -

Frank Clark - 12-13 mil a year - no way he doesn't get resigned by Seahawks
Jadeveon Clowney - no way do we land him, but he has become a versatile lineman who can rush but is also one of the best run stoppers in the game
Rodney Gunter - 1-year wonder but could be a guy we could get cheaper on a two or 3-year contract
Sheldon Richardson - Could be a guy we could land in the 10 mil range with bonuses.
Chris Long - Rotational pass rusher - cheap with bonus incentive contract - age 34

OL

Offensive Lineman are gonna be expensive because of lack of talent and market need.

CB

Ronald Darby - Cut Dre Kirkpatrick and secure 2 of the best shutdown corners in the nfl with WJ3 -  13mil a year
Bryce Callahan - *same as Darby
Pierre Desir - Cheaper contract and lots of potential

FREE AGENCY

Uzomah
Kroft
Tyler Eifert
Darqueze Denard
Preston Brown

Release or Trade

Burfict
Kirkpatrick

** FREE AGENT SIGNINGS**

Corey Littleton - I would prefer CJ Mosley but its a division rival and I don't think he would want to come to Bengals.  Littleton has the Rams connection and he's young with tons of promise.  The guy played lights out in the Superbowl and if we can sign him to a long term 7-8 mil contract this immediately upgrades our LB's.  ** If we can get CJ Mosley for Mike obviously sign him **

Adrian Peterson - Value pickup and great goal line guy.  Mixon would be our #1 and Peterson our #2.  1-2 year 3-4 mil with performance bonuses.

Pierre Desir - Starting/Rotational guy great fit for the team and won't kill you in the cap. no clue what the market will be on him

Sheldon Richardson just sign the guy and put him next to Atkins in the rotation.  2 years 8 million including bonuses

Lastly, I would bring in Teddy Bridgewater and really kick the tires on him.  He would be a better backup regardless and you can get him at a killer discount.

DRAFT

Round 1 - Cody Ford - OT - OKLAHOMA

Cody Ford may end up being the best right tackle in the draft this year coming from arguably the most dominant offensive line in college football in 2018.  He's big, athletic, and has a ton of potential to get better.  His run blocking is top notch and when watching his tape you can see him consistently pancaking guys.  If you want a good comparison for Ford it has to be Tyron Smith they have almost exactly the same size coming out.  I could see starting him at RT and moving him to LT after we rent Glenn for a year or two; regardless he can move inside on the line and be a great guard.  The thing I like the most about Ford is his passion and motivation.

Round 2 - Devin Bush - LB - Michigan

Mack Wilson or Devin Bush at this pick would be a win for us.  Devin Bush is on the smaller size at 5'11" and 225, but I could see him adding 5 or 10 pounds. Extremely high football IQ with top tier Athleticism; he's great in coverage, has great gap penetration and has 5 sacks with 10 tackles for loss in each of his last two years.  Plug and play him at MIKE.

Highlight

Round 3 - Rock Ya-Sin CB - Temple

Rock Ya-Sin has ideal size for today's nfl at 6'1 190lbs and is a unique development CB for the NFL.  He's great for press man coverage and excels at jamming receivers then using his quick hips to hold tight coverage.  He averaged 50 tackles a season the last two years and because he comes from a wrestling background he has great functional strength.  His two glaring weakness is his long speed and he needs work with his hands;  that said he still had 2 interceptions each of his last two years.  He has limited football experience, but a great work ethic that could have him being a starter in 1-2 seasons.

Round 4 - Isaac Nauta TE - GEORGIA

[Image: Isaac-Nauta-Jeff-Sentell-102718a_adkxpc.jpg]

George Kittle 2.0?  When Kittle was coming out I was on these boards everyday hyping the guy up and while I could have never imagined he would have had such a fast rise I see a lot of the same qualities in Nauta.  If you look at a stat comparison between Nauta and Kittle coming out of college they are almost exactly the same down to the yard.  They are both praised for being hard-nosed tight ends who are great blocking, but at their schools weren't used as much in the passing game due to the offensive scheme.  Nauta has great hands to pluck the ball out of the air and at 6'4 246 his body has held up well during his college career.  In his last game at Alabama, he was targeted 4 times with 4 receptions, 1 touchdown, and 88 yards.  He has never fumbled during his career.  This guy is my sleeper pick in this draft and he may be the best tight end in possibly the most talented TE class in draft history.

**Side Note** Bulldogs play well for the Bengals =)

Round 5 - Joe Jackson EDGE - MIAMI

Developmental Edge with great size and athleticism.  He added a lot of weight which he's still becoming accustomed to but has been a consistent 7 sack guy.  I would like to see him recover some of that first step when he fills into his body, but I think as a rotational edge rusher with great developmental traits he would be great in the 5th.
