Ambiguous is the fact that no one can explain what criteria they use to determine if a player "won" or "lost" a play, weather the good or bad play was a direct result of his actions, or because a teammate failed to do their job properly.  So yes, I will take the sports writers' opinion.  Most sports writers are also sports fans.
