I flew out of Cleveland, to JFK, directly to Edinburgh. No problems at all there, nobody checked my luggage, BUT I did get my hands screened and patted down from JFK to Edinburgh.
Coming back, from Edinburgh to JFK, no issue. From JFK to Cleveland, the TSA guys said no drones are allowed in NY, we're going to have to confiscate it. They waited for me to get mad before telling me they were pulling my leg (if you guys read my posts during Bengals game, you know I have a short fuse lol) - I said you guys can't take my drone and sell it on Ebay!
There are very few drone cases that are fit and advertised for "carry-on" size limits. The puddle jump from JFK to CLE's plane was small and the overhead bin...was smaller than advertised - the drone case got stuck in there (lol). They had to send a maintenance person to get it out, and the pilot got very mad at me. Gee..I told him maybe you should change the bin in the airport then, because it fit in there. He said now we're going to be late for Miami, thanks. I said well that's what they get for stealing Lebron for a few years of his prime. Haha!!
He did not laugh.
