You can make that argument with any player at any position group to justify taking another player.  I don't think they would have spent a 2nd round pick on a blocking TE if they didn't think it was important for their offense and/or they thought they could get him later.  The need pick would have been the best LB left on their board, and they still got the best LB left on their board.
