If you look at the numbers (ESPN used to post them but they seem to be gone now) Dalton's accuracy on deep throws was as good as most NFL QBs and better than many. But the average fan just sees the highlights of all these other QBs throwing perfect strikes on long passes. The highlights never show all the missed throws.
