It can hurt to move, breathe, sneeze, cough, yell, and anything else with even one broken rib, so he better hope that the doctor gives him some strong drugs if he hopes to be back in week 5, but I honestly don't even see that as a possibility.
If my memory serves me correctly, That year Vick had two broken ribs he was out 3 games.
So, realistically, I'd think a Smith return by week 8 is optimistic. We will see.
