That's why we lost. We weren't beat by the run. We were beat through the air.
If Wilson had time, the score would have been a lot more lopsided.
The Bengals allowed just 232 total yards of offense against Seattle and Wilson had one completion over 30 yards. I did not see the Bengals giving up big plays after big plays via the air against Seattle. Then again, I experienced shock-and-awe week one.
The Bengals defense in week 2 against the 49ers did not maintain good gap protection at the line and the backers were not in position. I did not see many plays where a Bengal player shot through the gap. Shanahan called an awesome game and Sweet Lou's zone defense felt the pain. The secondary did not adjust well in zone and several blown assignments were made. The safeties for the Bengals had a bad day against the 49ers.
