Joe Flacco also has a winning record as a starter (96-69-0) and has won multiple playoff games, including a SB where he was MVP. That didn’t stop Baltimore from moving on from him.
No, it didn't. However, they moved on from him because he was getting old and the fact that they had a young QB who outplayed him last year - Flacco's QB rating was 84.2 and was 4-5 as a stater vs Jackson's QB rating of 84.5 and going 6-1 as a starter. Not to mention that Flacco hasn't had a QB rating over 85 since 2014 (in comparison Dalton hasn't had a QB rating below 86 since 2014).
Now, if we had a QB-of-the-future on the roster, then maybe we could give him a shot and eventually jettison Dalton, but we don't (though I'm still holding out hope for Dolegala being the greatest QB in NFL history and just needs a shot)
