It wouldn't surprise me to see the same thing happen with AJ or any other aging player. 

They thought Whitworth had no other offers too.

I don't know on AJ. They have traditionally been hesitant to give WR's that are over 30 long-term deals for big money.

I could see amount of years being an issue. But, AJ has been injured A LOT. It's quite conceivable that other teams won't offer him a 3-4 year deal for high dollars.

A guy like Julio Jones had 1677 yards last year and is on pace for 1500 this year. He gets big money.

AJ has had 1 1000+ yard season over the past 4 seasons...and it was 1,078. No way is he worth Julio Jones-type money.
