Dalton haters, that have been salivating for Burrow will have to either defend him (using the same tactics they like to call us Dalton Fanboys for) or they will turn on him the same way they turned on Dalton.
Either they were impressed with Dalton in his 2nd or 3rd season or they never liked him to begin with. If it is the latter then their bashing of him and support of Burrow will lead many to go after Burrow as a way of going after those posters. Turn about being fair play and all.
With all my heart I want Joe Burrow to succeed. I was thinking of a positive nickname like "Jungle Joe Burrow" because I desperately want every player on the Bengals' roster to achieve both personal and team greatness.
The more I think about it the more I understand the Bengals did Andy Dalton wrong; maybe it wasn't even purposeful. Here he is, a better than average quarterback who led the Bengals to five straight playoff appearances, and after the 2015 season the Front Office got stupid and started letting key players go. Between 2015 and the present day the Bengals parted with Kevin Zeitler, Andrew Whitworth, Marvin Jones, Mohamed Sanu, Benjarvus Green-Ellis, and Jeremy Hill. They were not replaced with equivalent quality players other than Joe Mixon. Andy, once surrounded by playmakers, had to make do with less and if we're being honest that was too much of an ask.
