Sure did....and LSU's defense wasn't anywhere near as loaded as Clemson's. Early in the first half, the guys from Clemson were WIDE OPEN in space. They rattled Lawrence and he was off target most of the night. When I saw the one pass interference call against LSU that gave Clemson a first down (would have punted otherwise) I was like, "seriously? again?" but LSU just couldn't be stopped on offense. Burrow went to his TE when his WR was blanketed. He checked it down to his RB. He even started running the ball. The kid just knows to take what is given and not force it.
That has been my biggest knock on Dalton was always trying to force the ball to Green when he is doubled.
Lawrence is still an amazing athlete, and will be a great QB, but the way he beat OSU (with refs and his legs) and the struggles he had making his reads (and it looked to me like he had a LOT more time than Burrow, except for a couple plays) has me glad that the Bengals will get their QB this year, and not hope for next.
