Here’s my take: When it comes to quarterbacks I am a fan of whoever Cincinnati puts behind center at the moment. From Kenny Anderson to Andy Dalton I have backed the Bengals’ quarterback. To me that’s being a real fan. Each quarterback had their particular shortcomings but that doesn’t make me root for them any less. When Joe Burrow becomes a Bengal he’ll be “the man” and I’ll be behind him 100%.
What bothered me in 2019 was this: Sometimes it seemed like fans were rooting for Andy Dalton to fail more than they wanted the Bengals to succeed. I hope my impression about this was completely wrong but I suspect it wasn’t.
