I think it is word semantics and nothing more.
You say "New"
Others (me) say improved or progressed as we don't feel a 5 year QB is new. But, it is a compliment in my opinion either way.
I am so ready for 2024 season. I love pro football and hoping for a great Bengals year. Regardless, always remember it is a game and entertainment.
