We were depending on drafting our team during that period and solidifying our roster for a Superbowl push, but ultimately they drafted bad players and the team started slipping. I look at drafts in terms of success 3-5 years later and the impact those guys had on the team. 2012 may have been our most successful draft considering the playtime all those guys got and while none were pro bowl players they were all average or above and were all a big part of our 2014-16 run.
Don't think Westerman is still in the NFL but, yeah that was a decent draft in the midst of a poor run of drafting.

What I'm really curious to find out, but continue to come up empty on any solid information is; What percentage of all players drafted make it to a 2nd contract? Between superstar contracts continuing to climb, and league minimums continuing to rise as well, many teams are simply hamstrung by the cap to keep a percentage of players on rookie deals.
I think that average length of a career includes undrafted players as well.
This is a bit dated but breaks it down by round

With that said it's behind us now, nothing we can do about it, lets look forward and place our faith in Zac and his staff.
2012 was one of the Bengals' greatest ever drafts. Marvin Jones in the 5th, Zeitler, Sanu (traded for a 2nd round pick only last year), Dre, George Iloka at the back of the 5th. The issue with that draft is that we failed to retain the offensive talent. It was the 2009-2012 drafts which powered those 5 consecutive play-off appearances.
