You can protect a bad o line with scheme...you can’t hide bad linebackers. You can’t argue whether or not Taylor can, but it can be done. The Chargers for years have made due with horrible O lines via scheme and that was with one of the least athletic QBs in recent history. The thing with defense is you are always playing to what the offense gives you so they dictate to an extent what you have to do. With that in mind you can’t protect weak units defensively as easily as you can offensively.
