And he definitely had a shelf life as a Bengal. During his last year s a starter here, Boomer took over with the same lineup Blake had and the difference was night and day.
The bottom line, though, was Jeff Blake was a pretty cool chapter in Bengals history.

From 91-94 we had 14 wins. Along comes Blake and you could at least pull the brown paper bag up above your eyebrows a bit. Despite the awful coaching/no coaching. We actually went 7-9 then 8-8 and were in several of the loses.
Blake put a bit of fun back into watching Bengals football. Was he a super star QB ? No But considering what he had to work with he did pretty well.
