That's what I'd do for Mixon.

And, if they do that for him THIS year, as a contract extension giving him some bonus money now, it might grease the wheels to an amicable deal that benefits both parties.  The money gets spread over 5 years, instead of 4, which greatly benefits the team.  Joe would get some serious money now, giving him a little financial security, thus making him a happier guy.
