One does wonder why we persist in trying to run these passive zone blocking schemes instead of launching off the snap into the defense and driving. Every snap I see our linemen giving ground, which is not how to play effective offense, and I think part of the problem is the zone scheme which emphasizes lateral movement also puts the linemen in a reactive mode instead of attacking.
