I think barring him having a real big 2020, the writing was already on the walls for this. Now it's all but done.

Next year was the final year of his contract and he had a $13.5m cap hit vs $2.25m in dead money.

Cutting a non-elite 32-year-old to save $11.25m in cap space is a pretty easy call as far as cap allocation goes.

I'm not sure I understand your complaint.  They posted a depth chart, and he's upset he's not at the top.  What would you have them do?
