I wouldn’t put all the bad defense on them. The linebacking corps was terrible, the corners were terrible due to Jackson injuries, outside of a great second season, and Hubbard/Lawson were young and still learning. Coaches see talent and think they have the scheme or coaching knowledge to fix things or develop guys to their best.
