Defensive scheme to blame for lack of pass rushing?

I believe this defense has lacked any swagger and has been playing non-aggressive for several years now dating back to before the current staff.

And I feel that's a big factor in well everything. They take the field with a gee I hope we don't get crushed, again, attitude and it shows.
