When the tutor starts asking the disciples for their feedback on how to improve the team, if that's what the conversations were about then:

1. Tutor has no long term plan.
2. Tutor has lost sense of direction/making changes to correct failures.
3. Tutor has no sense of surrounding (team morale).
4. Tutor has given up (out of ideas).
and 
5. Tutor is asking disciples for help/advise (Tutor becoming the disciple).

Sack the Zac. His lack of experience has made him ineffective.
