But, he played well. Threw for 8 touchdowns (a record) in his first 3 games.

Both players sacked a bunch and at a high percentage when pressured.
Burrow had a deep adjusted completion percentage of just 20.8% -- That's really bad, but a comparison? Mariota had a deep adj percentage of 20.4%
Both were second-worst in their respective years.

Mariota's pocket presence and management never got better. He continued to take unnecessary negative plays in the form of sacks and it limited the Titans offense. But, a decent athlete and can be accurate without a crazy arm. Was really never terrible.

Mariota rookie year: 2.54s

Combine that with completion percentage on throws under 2.5 seconds

Mariota's rookie: 69%
