The way I see it, his development is going just fine.  The problem seems to be that the offense is only asking him to be a 5 yard out safety valve.

While I'm sure that's a reason for his lower production, I don't have a lot of confidence he has the ability to run those deeper routes (yet).
He was raw as a pass catcher coming out of college. He didn't catch a lot of passes or run a lot of routes. He was used a lot as a blocker, which is his forte.
I know he has enough speed (for a TE) and good hands though.
It's possible the team doesn't trust him to run the deeper or more complex routes.

I just don't see Top 10 TE in his future is all I'm saying. I think his ceiling is probably the likes of Vance McDonald or Jack Doyle. He might have a good receiving season every now and then but I don't see him as a consistent 600+ yard guy.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!
