But at #3 overall, he's a luxury; an extravagance. This team should not even bother doing anything other than fortifying both sides of the LOS with every pick this year. At LEAST the first 3-4.
A 4th round rookie isn't going to fortify the LoS in 2021.
Rounds 1 and 2 is where you get year 1 starters.
Rounds 3 and 4 you are looking at more rotational or developmental pieces. You might get a year one starter in the third round at a lower premium position (eg an interior lineman, running back or a slot WR/CB) and occasionally you get lucky and someone exceeds expectations but round 3 and 4 we should be looking at starters for 2022 or even 2023, not 2021. If the Bengals are smart they'll draft rounds 1 and 2 to start and pair rounds 3 and 4 with veterans on short term deals in free agency.
