Or, perhaps he has seen the tape and sees what many of us see... capable bodies with improper coaching. He sees this as correctable, and closer than far.

We've heard this before.  And had awful teams.  I think coaches are in the thick of it, so they have more access to data than any of us.  But I also think a lot of them want to be the one who proves they can make a player great.  I don't want to here "we're close."  I want to hear "we're there."
