Mack had 53 sacks and 4 double digit sack seasons in his first 5 years. Ansah had 44 sacks and 2 double digit sack years. On top of that, Ansah had guys like Suh, Nick Fairly, and Haloti Ngata on the DL with him starting out while Mack had basically no one drawing attention away from him.
Quality of competition is pretty important. Paye didn't play Wisconsin, OSU, or Iowa. He had 2 sacks and 3 TFL against a redshirt senior with a 7th round/CFA grade from Minnesota and only had one TFL in his remaining games. How many draft worthy prospects did he actually go against in those 4 games?
Yet you reference Khalil Mack who hails from the mighty MAC. I'll go out on a limb and suggest scouts put much more stock in Khalil's skill set than they did quality of competition.
I get it; you're not changing your opinion.
