Doolittle A Needed Addition To Bullpen
#2
OK, we can rattle on about who we don't have like Bauer, who we knew was a short stay when we got him. We traded big contract of Homer Bailey to Dodgers for several players including Puig who was traded to Cleveland for Bauer who now goes to Dodgers. In a round about way Dodgers traded Puig to Cleveland for Bauer and Reds got to use him end of 2019 and short covid 2020 season. Reds are so strapped by Votto contract, that keeping Bauer was never an option unless someone traded to pick up most of Votto contract. Plus Reds are extra strapped now as a small market team losing money off of covid no fans in stands to buy anything.

But needing Lefties in the Bullpen, the Reds just made a big move getting Doolittle who is a Lefty and was a Closer at times for Washington. The Reds needed more Lefties than just Garrett. THIS is a big signing for the start of 2021 season. Really, they still need more Lefties on 40 man roster, but this is a good addition to everyday roster. Reds will need Doolittle as the #1 Lefty Specialist if Garrett becomes Reds Closer with Iglesias gone.

I have pretty good idea of Reds batters, but Reds pitchers are another story. After Gray and Castillo, it is wide open to fill Bauer and Disco gone. Lorenzen seems better as a starter warms up, I don't think he gets ready in reliever short warm up tosses. They are still trying Miley. Don't forget Sims. Seeing Bauer, Disco, Iglesias leave, Reds needed to add Doolittle to help in the Pen.
