40 times are only relevant because we typically did not know how fast someone was during a game with pads on. We could guess, but had no way to 100% know. Ideally, you want to know how fast and agile someone is in actual games, not what they run in spandex.
Saw this posted over the weekend and found it interesting.
We’re about 2-3 years away from personnel departments not caring about 40 times. The game GPS data is going to replace it. Who cares what he ran in the 40, I know exactly how fast he ran in game conditions & I have 5 years of data for context.

Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.
