Just noticed this sub-forum yesterday.
Fifth and deciding game of the 1972 NLCS. Bottom of the 9th and the Reds are done one. Johnny Bench leads off with a game tying homerun. Later in that inning, with Foster on 3rd and Hal Mcrae at bat, Bob Moose unleashed a wild pitch and Foster crosses the plate with the game winning run while Mcrae goes nuts.
That was also the last game Roberto Clemente would ever play in. He died just 2 1/2 months later on new Years Eve with exactly 3000 hits.
