Intermittent Fasting

However, if you're a strength athlete, work a physical job, or just enjoy doing physically demanding hobbies on the weekend, it might not be the best option. Most of the Sciencey types in the fit communities all swear by the eating 6 small, clean meals throughout the day. It keeps the body in an anabolic state, as opposed to a catabolic state.

See Terry Crews. He only eats between 2pm -10pm and works out at 6am. He does this everyday and I don’t think you could say he’s not a size strength athlete.

The whole point of fasting is to give your body a break from digesting food. If you eat 5-6 small meals a day, sure it a healthy way to eat and burn calories, but your body (inparticularly the liver) never gets a chance to work on things other than digesting, so you miss out on the benefits of fasting.

For people worried about losing muscle mass, fasting the way Bengalzona did it is probably the better way. A 24 hour fast like once every two weeks would still accomplish some of the benefits of fasting.
