Neither of those are good this year, but they are still 10+ points higher than Russell Bodine's 43.9 rating.

Bodine is a bottom-tier starter and has been every year he's been in the league. Long and Linsley may not ever be a top 10 C going forward, but both are without a doubt better than Bodine. I would consider Long and Linsley to be on that second-tier priority when FA hits.

It really comes down to do you look to upgrade to at least around the middle or do you keep rolling with a bottom-tier starter and wait for another draft pick to come along that is a slam dunk?

No offense, but I see this change of centers proposed as putting a band aide on a gushing 5 inch deep wound. We need the hole stitched by an expert to not leave a scar and close the wound. We need our Pouncey, Mack or Kelcey (Eagles) via the draft as don't see a stud in FA right now.

I agree, we need a fat ass Center that can handle a 3-4 NT.  Anyone can learn to pass block, but to move a larger man from in front of you takes a special kind of size/aggression combo not often found.

Where have all the Earl Dotson's went?

How about a stout, wide bodied Center that can handle a NT one on one.  BTW, those team stats really don't mean much.  Heck, look at the Bengals in 2015.  They were by all standards considered a good OL, but couldn't run for a 3rd and 2 or 4th and 1 to save their lives.

My point being, a "fatass" is completely outdated OL notion and how you end up with bad players. 

Adding a fat center won't magically fix the team. Draft good players.

Yes, that's the ideal scenario, but two things in reply:
1) Any upgrade over Bodine is going to be a step in the right direction
2) Are people confident that Billy Price will be on the same elite level as Pouncey, Mack, or Kelce?

Center from osu who scouts believe can play center or guard but better at center in nfl. Comes from a run first offense like the Bengals, and dominates anyone u put In Front of him. Former dlineman as well so he knows what they try to do. Amazing athletically for a center, hell pull 15 yards down field. I know it's the wrong section but our first round pick if Derwin James is gone in a trade down.

Nothing will be accomplished as long as both Marv and Mikey are still with this organization. They can get the best draft picks and players and we will still have a crappy team.
