I was surprised when I read that while playing Welker on the scout team last season, the Bengals were surprised as to how difficult a time the defense was having in covering him.  It was almost like they hadn't read their own scouting report???

I could see Rex being a real boost to the offense in the slot and he could rotate in that position with Sanu.

Yeah, this is what i remember hearing from the combine. Impressive in short distance especially with him being 220.

All jokes aside, he has looked good out there, and that is encouraging.  Could be a more dynamic Brian Leonard for us.

I loved Leonard's heart. He had the will to win games. Hopefully some of our other players have some of that this year.

He's a guy who can catch the ball really well who is really good at yards after the catch.   I really hope they use him more than on just 3rd downs.  With enough reps he could develop into a multi-tool weapon.

Burkhead reminds me of a guy that would flourish under a Bellichek, but ride the pine here in Cincy.  Sort of like DeDe Dorsey, the guy blocked a punt which he scooped up and scored a TD on and was promptly benched.  He ran a screen pass something like 70 yards and didn't see the ball again.  I just couldn't figure it out.

He was kind of the bizarro-world Tate.

Dede had a history of injuries that's why he wouldn't play.

I am talking about the same game.  He would make a play and sit.  Now he might have been injured in practice or something, but for a while he seemed to be an exciting player that flourished when he got an opportunity.

And we had no talent at RB at the time either which was really perplexing as to why we would
not put a guy with some talent out there. He did nothing but show up when he got time.

That is why it is nice for us to finally have a talented backfield. For once we don't have a guy
sitting on the bench that we want to get snaps out there. Better coaching going on right now than
back then.
