Which naturally makes me wonder how big of a problem complacency was for this team under Marvin...who not only had more years than McCarthy, he's also known as a "player's coach" that everyone was comfortable with.

Lack of energy and accountability marred Merv's last years.

We did lose a lot of quality free agents over the past 3 years. Put Whitworth and Zeitler back on the roster and we likely win 10 games this year.
Put Marvin Jones or Sanu back.
I could go on and on.

I'm talking about complacency in attitude more than off-season moves. That said, I gotta disagree that 2 o-linemen would've changed things much. The defense was the biggest problem this year, and I do believe complacency could be an issue with our core group of players under Marv. Why strive for greatness when failure was being accepted?
Hopefully this shakeup with the coaching staff brings a new attitude and makes those seats a little less cozy.
