This for real this time? Guess we will be playing him twice a year now. I know he lost a step and the game has passed him by as far as his style of play but you can't tell me he's worse than the back ups we have.

Will we pick him right back up? We did this last year with another player. Not sure what it was about. Just curious.

Wondered if they at least tried to trade him if he was healthy?

I'm glad we finally made the move. Regardless, he played with passion for us and was fun to watch at times. I'm curious if he'll land somewhere else or retire.

Does not matter if he was good or not.  He only played 43 of our last 80 games and several of the 43 games he played he was not able to finish due to injury.

He was one of the few elite players we have had recently.  I loved the guy.  But this is the right move by the Bengals.

I am guessing every team always tries to trade a player before just releasing him.

Why wouldn't they?

What NFL team would trade for him?

He's been absolutely terrible the past 2 seasons. He's voted the dirtiest player in the league. He has a history of concussions and suspensions.

No team would give up anything for that.

Especially when they know the Bengals are wanting to do move on. I know it was kept close to the vest, but when they start reaching out for trade partners, that signals to other teams they're ready to move on. So unless it was an elite player worth the gamble, no GM would do this.

That's not the home page. Some of these pages also had us shopping AJ and Dalton... waiting for something actually from the team.

Timing makes me wonder if we signed another linebacker or if the money is being slid to Dennard. Either way I think LB is in play at 11.

I hope it's another LB being signed. Still would benefit from a linebacker in the draft.

It's on the NFL's official home page.

Refreshing to hear, Bengals making some needed changes getting rid of Marvin Lewis and now Burfict. Can use the money saved on Burfict and Dennard to resign guys like Willam Jackson , Boyd and A.J. Green.
