SErebel11 mock 2.0
#1
With Devon White, Juwaan Taylor and Ed Oliver off the board, Bengals trade #11 and #72 to NYG for #17, #37, and #143
After passing on grabbing a QB at #6, the Giants jump ahead of Washington and Miami to get their guy.

First 3 picks: Instant impact guys

Round 1, Overall 17 Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
Wilkins is a high character, high floor, high motor, high ceiling football player. He can stuff the run and rush the passer. He would be a great addition to the defensive line.

Round 2, Overall 37 Dalton Risner, OT/OG, Kansas St
Very physical and strong offensive lineman that can play right tackle or inside. He was a 4 year starter at Kansas State including time at center and right tackle. He plays to the whistle and finishes blocks. Really has a nasty streak in the way he plays. Only allowed 1 sack and 23 pressures in 1397 pass block reps. Only had 12 penalties in 3278 snaps over 4 seasons.

Round 2, Overall 42 Zach Allen, DE, Boston College
This 6’4” 281 pound DE is one of my favorite players in the draft. He is an edge setter and superb run stuffer who can also rush the passer from the edge or kick inside. He has superb length, 34.75” arms and uses his hands as well or better than anyone in the draft. On tape, he is relentless on every rep and played seemingly every snap. Played over 100 snaps in a game.

Two solid developmental guys and a trade for LB help

Round 4, Overall 110 Kahale Warring, TE, San Diego St
Athletic 6’5”252 pound TE that is a bit raw as a route runner but has not played a ton of football. He has been moving up draft boards due to his upside in both the pass and run game. He has also shown the willingness to be a solid inline blocker. NFL.com has a player comp of Todd Heap for him. Cincinnati can afford to grab Warring a bit early and develop him behind Eifert and Uzomah.

Round 5 Overall 143 Cameron Smith, LB, USC
Smith probably will not be a guy that immediately comes in and makes an impact but he is a good developmental prospect that could be an average starting ILB down the road.

Round 5, Overall 149 Traded to NYJ for LB Darron Lee
The Bengals trade a 5th round pick for Darron Lee who could come in a potentially start at WLB.

All the lotto tickets

Round 6, Overall 183 Bryce Love, HB, Stanford
Coming off an ACL injury, he is a bit of a gamble. Love is a similar type player that Bernard is and Bernard is in the last year of his deal. I think Cincinnati lets Bernard walk at the end of next season and here is his replacement.

Round 6, Overall 198 Bunchy Stallings,G/C, Kentucky
Stallings has experience at both center and guard which is very valuable. He plays with a mean streak and has the work ethic and tenacity to possibly be a solid starter at some point. He had one of the highlight blocks of the year at Florida.

Round 6, Overall 210 Trevon Wesco, TE/FB, West Virginia
Speaking of mean streaks, Wesco is a punisher. He would be an excellent blocking TE and FB that can catch the ball also.

Round 6, Overall 211 Travis Fulgham, WR, Old Dominion
Solid WR with excellent body control that will compete for footballs using his 6’2” frame. He is also one of the best blocking wide receivers in the draft which says a lot about his makeup as a football player.

Round 6, Overall 213 Andrew Van Ginkel, OLB, Wisconsin
He was mostly used as an edge defender and pass rusher at Wisconsin. I would take a shot on this kid as a developmental 3 down OLB. At 6’3” and 241 pounds, he shows the athleticism to be a solid OLB. He ran a 4.56 on his pro day and had a 6.89 3 cone to go along with a 38 inch vertical. The measurables are there, just needs developed.

Round 7, Overall 223 Chris Johnson, S, No. Alabama
Small school stud with some serious athleticism. 6’3” 200 pounds, ran a 4.42 40 time and reportedly had an insane 6.61 3-cone time. He is physical and can play gunner on special teams while being groomed as a safety. He has production also with 8 interceptions in the last 2 seasons.
