Finally watching the game.
All it took was the first two minute warning of the year for us to get the bad end of this new pass interference replay rule and for me to really not like it. We had a nice Wilson INT overturned. And then they stopped the game and reviewed our nice 3rd down pass defense in the endzone with a fine tooth comb just looking for anything to overturn a normal good defensive football play.
Is every pass plan within the 2 minute warning going to go to review to look for PI now?

This happens every preseason. They'll call the new rule or "point of emphasis" a whole bunch in the preseason, everybody freaks out, and then ifor the most part t's not an issue when the regular season starts.
Refs are getting ready for the real deal just like everyone else. What are they going to do, make preseason football MORE unwatchable than it already is?

We need a new Sunday afternoon show in the fall called The Under Review Show. They could review the commercials leading up to the show and review every subsequent commercial thereafter. Now THAT would be fun.... ...as sleeping on an overcrowded bus. Never accuse me of not looking out for your entertainment venues.

So, in an already offensive leaning rule book, they are going to further tie the hands of defenders?
I guess fantasy football wins..

It took 1 preseason game for Bengal fans to already start crying about how the league is against us. Nice to see you're already in midseason form.

And it plays to the strength of our Team and our HC.

Well maybe, but I still don't like the continued watering down of the game that I grew up with. Might as well just ditch the helmets and pads, and go full flag football..

Yes. As if having a management team that hasn't won a playoff game since 1991 isn't a big enough obstacle...the league put a plan in place to make us lose too!

I'm with you.
How about the endzone celebrations? Seems like they were pretty cool in the 80's and some of the 90's. Then they ban them. Then they bring them back. Then they ban them. Then they bring them back with rules. Now you seem to be able to do whatever again.
Is it me or has that been how it went?

I Agree with you that the new set of rules the past couple of years take away from the spirit of the game.
And it seems that they are intended to limit defenses and increase scoring.
Be as they may, I'm hoping it helps our offense.

No way man... PI is the most worthless thing that ever happened to fantasy football. I do agree with the rest of your assessment though...
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Absolutely. Anytime a wide-out gets hit while trying to make a catch, you just know the flag is going to come flying out.
Don't hit high.
Don't hit low.
Don't hit if they aren't looking.
It is just way past the point of player safety. And somewhere Montana, Marino, Kenny Anderson, Phil Sims and all the QBs from the 80's and early 90's are going "Where the hell were these rules when we played??"

That was a classic NFL to the Bengals: "This is what we are going to do if you ever happen to make a game-ending INT of Piggy or Brady". More ways to screw the small market team that doesn't generate the revenue. Bastards.
That was a 50-50 ball and should NEVER have been called PI and I guarantee it never will be for the Bengals.
I remember seeing Darelle Revis basically hip-check Chad Johnson in to the bench and make an INT and there was no flag. And there never will be, for this team.

So, they’re really watching replays on that little tv? Geez, and all this time I thought the refs had a porn addiction. Man, the learning never stop does it?

There were 16 PI reviews in week 1....only 2 got overturned. Relax, it's not a big deal.

Didnt realize this yesterday when i made this. The replay official did not initiate a review for PI in any of the other 16 games that have been played so far. But they did initiate a review twice in our game.
So yep. Just practicing their new tool to screw over the Bengals and other small market teams. Another trick up their sleeve to dictate the outcome of games.
Good way to suck the momentum out of a team after a nice goal line stand

Yes, surely the NFL's biggest concern is holding back the juggernaut that is the Cincinnati Bengals.

Don't worry. Eventually NFL is going to become like NBA level of scoring and timeouts toward the end of halves.
SO EXCITING!
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

That was intentional. Since some wanted to jump my ass for complaining. When in fact i was right to considering we were he only game that had a replay official initiate a PI review. Not once but twice.
I can imagine how fun it would be sitting outside in December watching the game and the refs are stopping the game after an incomplete pass with no flags to go over the play with a fine tooth comb looking for something to tack a penalty on. Shit is lame as hell.
