Win or do not win. There is no “if”.
Would we be 2 and 1 had AJ Green been healthy & playing ?

Who knows! Would we have made the playoffs last year if AJ didn't miss 7 games? Who knows.

What if Lewis Billups holds on to that int in the endzone in '89?
What if the Bengals punch it in on any one of those 4 downs in '82? What if Palmer doesn't get his knee blown out on the second play of the game in '06? What if Graham doesn't miss that FG in the last game of '06? What if Dalton doesn't break his thumb against Pitt in '15? What if the Dolphins beat the Patriots in the last game of '86? What if Bo Jackson doesn't get his leg ripped out in that game in '91? What if Bill Walsh was named HC in '76? What if Steve Young goes in the NFL draft in '84? What if Paul Brown never died... Its still an 11 man team sport. Our chances would have been higher for sure.

I have no reason to believe that AJ Green being on the field would have stoped the unforced fumble in Seatle or made the missed FG. Nor would he have been able to stop AD from throwing a bad ball that was picked. That's my take on it.

I don't know but I do when AJ is on the field
The Bengals have winning % over .500.

We can't win hardly with the best QB in football. Keep your heads up Bengal fans. I hope you get it turned around.

I literally took about 2-3 minutes to type those right off the top of my head and when i saw how depressing that list was, i just stopped. I don't know how the Bengals would have fared in those games, had AJ Green been on the field. It could have made a huge difference, or it could have made no difference at all.
Had AJ Green played in that Seattle game, would we have still seen John Ross have the breakout performance that we have all been waiting for? Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations -Frank Booth 1/9/23

Who knows but one thing we do know is we never really know when or if AJ is going to show up for a game. When he decides to beat his chest and take over there's maybe 2-3 others in the league who can do what he does but there's far far too many quarters/halfs he's non-existent. Kind of excited with the new offense and AJ's comments so maybe we'll have new life with AJ "should" the FO sign him.. |
