Changing Quarterbacks Will NOT Fix the Run Game
#1
Let’s get the ugly truth out of the way first: I’m done with Andy Dalton.

Try Ryan Finley if you want. Trade for Eli Manning. Heck, call Colin Kaepernick if you’re feeling brave or adventurous.

Just get someone else behind center.

Now, with this being said, changing quarterbacks will not fix the offensive line. Getting a more mobile signal caller will hide a bad line’s deficiencies for a few games but opposing defensive coordinators can figure out how to stop even a mobile quarterback behind a bad line.

Specifically, a new quarterback won’t help Cincinnati’s abysmal run game get better. I’m not against changing quarterbacks but please don’t think doing only that will make the entire offense immediately better. It won’t.

No matter who Cincinnati fields at quarterback the offensive line needs sorely addressed. Joe Mixon and Giovani Bernard are getting embarrassed and it’s not on them.
