Seems Mikey was there to answer any questions Joe had about Cincy. The strangest off-season in Bengals memory keeps getting better. Hope he didn't sour Joe on us....lol.

Yep, at least every Cincinnati media person reported that Brown was at the meeting

It makes sense, as it is a decision that can dramatically alter the course of the franchise. I think the only real concern Joe may have had would be spending on outside FA's, and they definitely answered that question this off-season.

I'd say you're right....I was catching up this morning, and didn't see a thread on it. What I gathered, you're correct about Burrow being the only player he met with. Kinda stood out to me.

Absolutely. If they continue to operate this way for a couple of years, this could be a dangerous team sooner, rather than later.

The writing on the wall for MB wanting Burrow has been there since the CFB championship game ended. It’s a marketing wet dream to have a franchise QB that’s a Heisman winner, college champion, local kid and will bring most of the LSU fan base with him.

Isn't the Heiman-winning QB thing more of a curse? I'd play that one down.
2019: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
2018: Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
2017: Baker Mayfield, QB, Oklahoma
2016: Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville
2014: Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
2013: Jameis Winston, QB, Florida State
2012: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
2011: Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
2010: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
2008: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
2007: Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
2006: Troy Smith, QB, Ohio State
2004: Matt Leinart, QB, USC
2003: Jason White, QB, Oklahoma
2002: Carson Palmer, QB, USC
2001: Eric Crouch, QB, Nebraska
2000: Chris Weinke, QB, Florida State
1996: Danny Wuerffel, QB, Florida
1993: Charlie Ward, QB, Florida State
1992: Gino Torretta, QB, Miami
Geez, that's a worse list than I thought. Burrow has gotta break the curse.

Yeah, that list is a whole lot of ugly, under-achieving and disappointing. Would love to see the combined win loss record in the NFL of those guys and their playoff win loss total.
Too lazy to compile it myself. Quarantine has made me just super lazy....... HOLY SHIT!!!!
That's it!!! That's the code, I just figured it out!!!
Mike Brown is the opposite world. When everyone else stays in, he finally comes out and plays in FA!!!

Maybe for winning and long careers, but you can make quite a bit of money off them in the short term.

It's trended much better in recent years. Murray was the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year. Baker was ranked #50 in the Top 100 and made the All Rookie team. Lamar Jackson was named league MVP this past year. Mariota got dumped by the Titans this off-season, but did win a playoff game. Winston is out in TB, but did go to a Pro Bowl. Manziel was a complete bust. People forget that RGIII had an amazing rookie year, winning ORotY honors, going to the Pro Bowl, and being named #15 in the Top 100 before injuries derailed him. Cam obviously went to the SB and won a ton of awards, including a league MVP and a 1st team All Pro.

Wouldn’t worry about it. Who doesn’t want a lifetime discount to Denny’s and a ride to the game in the family’s station wagon? I think he locked Joe in for life at league mini!

This has to be sarcasm? Carson was awesome before his injury, Tebow was decent, Cam was a beast at one point, RG3 was amazing before he got hurt, Lamar was amazing last season and Kyler Murray was not bad either

It's not sarcasm and I'm not saying once Burrow won the Heisman he was doomed, I'm just saying you are doing a lot of qualifying and excusing in your reply.
I suppose a better way to put it was Burrow is a Heisman winning QB...and he's going to be good like about 3 or 4 of them and not bad like the other 16 or so.

Carsone was the only one who did anything between Toretta and Bradford, but Whatever is right; from Cam and up, you're looking at guys who have had at least a handful of great years, while some have been near the the top.
Outside of Manziel, though. Horrific.
Our game against the Browns in 2014 was one of the most enjoyable games I've ever watched.

Murray is a rookie and looks good, Jackson clearly has it for now(?), but Mariotta and Winston didn't survive their rookie contracts as starters and Baker could get the hook for Keenum. Well I think Browns might have a real HC this year so who knows.
Im just saying that mentioning Heisman winning QB brings about some grey clouds so I'd not throw that award around when talking about Burrow's greatness.

You don't think Lamar and Murray have already broken the curse? Hell, Mayfield even had a very good rookie year.

I guess by that logic Palmer broke the curse in 2005 and yet QBs since then have fallen to it.
Let me be clear, I dint think there is an actual curse I just want to point out that if Burrow isn't the best and most successful Heisman winning QB of the past 30 years we are going to be disappointed. The median of that group is not so good.
