Hasn't played in over a year. Was utterly spent when he last did play. Is he just gonna play ten percent of the snaps? Not play until the playoffs?
This is an idea that sounds good but the chances of it being the slam dunk the tv windbags are portraying it as are probably pretty slim. Bodies that are broken down to the point his is do heal...right up until they start getting hit again.
I guess something had to be done. It had been a whole hour since Brady's name was mentioned on tv.
Gronk's a shadow of who he was in his glory days. At least the two of them can realize together how good they had it and how nothing else will ever compare.
Bruce Arians is no Bill Belichick.

We should try and trade for OJ Howard...

Gronk has played more recently than AJ Green. That’s not saying much.

That's.... gross.

When he starts playing, he will remember why he wanted to retire.
Yes, the hurts heal in a year. But what doesn't heal is the long term effects of all those hits that never go away. And this is a guy who has been battered.
I poured concrete for 35 years. Murder on the body. The last five or six years, I had enough guys to do the job that I didn't have to. But for a couple years, I kept going out there and doing it because it was so ingrained in me.
So finally, I listened to the people around me and gave it up.
A year goes by and I get all healed and I'm feeling pretty damn good. I decide to work for a couple days. It was the second day that convinced me. I was done. And I've never been hit with a car like Gronk has a thousand times. On a different scale, this is what is inevitable. Aside from RBs, who gets hit with bad intent more than a TE?
This is what will happen to Gronk. He's just been crashed into or crashed into people too many times. He'll won't lose any skills. But he will feel old.
Maybe they load manage him and save him for the playoffs. But what if they have to fight for a playoff spot?
I'm sure it will be more fun out from under the thumb of Bill and be in a new place with his buddy Tom. But will the fun outweigh the pain?

I don't get why the Bucs would want Gronk when they have OJ Howard + Cameron Brate on the roster. Plus Gronk wasn't as effective (still pretty good) as he was in his prime the last time he played.
